MeetBallZ

A 4-week project making a fictional company spreading awareness and raising money for Men’s testicular cancer using humour to destigmatise men’s health. I wanted to approach it in two ways: the marketing and branding element, and the product design, focusing on using consistent colourways and structures to create a cohesive campaign.

A person wearing a black and white striped apron, holding multiple meatballs in both hands, with a pink background. Overlaid on their torso is a graphic with the text "Meet BallZ" and a cartoonish red heart with a black outline, shaped like a meatball.
Billboard with provocative text asking 'When did you last meet your Ballz?' featuring a person in a striped dress with their hand holding a small food item, possibly a snack, against a red background with the 'Meet Ballz' logo in the bottom right corner.
Three rectangular boxes with latches, featuring the text 'Meet BallZ' and a heart logo, with one box containing a red puzzle piece dog figurine connected to a box.
Packaging of meatballs with bright beef ballz and vibrant veggie ballz labels.

Procedural Number Generation

After a workshop with Oswin Tickler, where he demonstrated how to code and implement procedural generation with graphics, I was inspired to take that concept and run with it. He had shown some of his previous work where he generated numbers with modules, which was my main inspiration. I wanted to work a level of interactivity into it, as it would be a digital work, so that you can input a number and it could spit it back out at you in the generated style. I struggled for a while to get my code to work, having it pick a random page and, if the numbers repeated, making sure to not use the same module again. This has, however, caused the code to get quite slow after around 6-7 digits, but I think the interactivity is a very fun touch. I wanted the numbers to look quite abstract, so I mainly stuck to geometric forms and kept them black and white when making the modules, so that when put together, they would look cohesive.

Save the Bees

Motion Graphics and editorial design for a Bee project. I wanted to push myself with this project so I created a modular typeface to go along with it and to also explore different software by using Adobe Aero to create a interactive AR experience with this project.

Colorful infographic about bees, their importance to ecosystems, and ways to help them, featuring pixel art bees, flowers, and text sections in green, yellow, red, and blue.

A Mile In My Shoes

An archival video and website creating a narrative around my Dad’s medals using cyanotype frame-by-frame animation to create a rhythm in the video, which linked to the rhythmic cycle of running. The website I coded myself using HTML, CSS, and a bit of JavaScript, this was so I could have interactivity with the website, such as the sound on the clicks and scrolling down to layer the images on top of each other. I wanted this to feel like you were diving into a different world because one of the things my dad said about his running is that he loses himself in the rhythmic pattern of his feet touching the ground.

Batman Comicbook

2 Week project looking at data story and finding an interesting way to show data. I wanted to make a story around a set of data which made me think of a comic book so after finding my data built the story around it, I had limited myself to one colour, black, which would make it more interesting and challenging to do. I built the story around an interesting fact that the death of Jason Todd was up to the fans.

Comic book cover of Batman with a close-up of Batman's face, wearing his mask and cape, with the word 'BATMAN' above his head.
A black and white comic strip depicting a woman slicing through an ice block with a sword, her face showing determination and anger. Another woman is shown looking thoughtful and typing on a device, possibly controlling the mini-copter, which is flying in the sky.
Black and white comic strip illustrating a meteorite or asteroid entering Earth's upper atmosphere, causing an explosion in a forest and a large boom sound effect.
Open comic book with black and white illustrations on a gray background.
Black and white comic book pages featuring Batman and the Joker discussing a bombing explosion with speech bubbles, and an explosion with sound effects.

Where will we get our protein from in the future?

A speculative design project thinking about what will happen when climate change means that we can’t grow crops to feed our livestock, what will we turn to for sustenance? Each other? Where will our protein come from in the future pushes the topic of climate change into a gruesome concept, and gets people to come face to face with the stark horror of climate change in a hopefully ‘digestable’ way.

Artwork portraying a person's head with a brain inside an open skull, with red dashed lines. Two forks are stabbing the brain, and red lines surround the head, creating a circular motion.
A book titled "Where will our protein come from in the future?" with a graphic design featuring a human torso, a heart, and a skeletal diagram in red, black, and white colors.
An infographic highlighting environmental issues related to global warming and climate change, including a section on the 'Premise' about rising temperatures and their impact on agriculture and livestock, a section on 'Speficiation' discussing water scarcity and human health, and a 'Final Solution' focused on reducing emissions. The infographic contains illustrations of a water faucet, a cow, a human skeleton with a heart, and a person wearing a gas mask, with red and black accents.
Open magazine displaying a style guide with black and red color samples, brush stokes, and various paint splatters and stripe designs.
A stylized, artistic portrait of a woman with a black bob haircut, smiling with one eye closed, and pink markings on her face. She is holding a detailed anatomical illustration of a human heart over her chest, combining elements of digital art, collage, and pop art with splashes of red and black paint effects.
An origami cube with a black and orange design, placed on top of a printed page with red and black text about climate change and solutions.

Roses Lime Cordial

A mini rebrand for Roses Lime Cordial, following a branding workshop with Epoch, I wanted to see how I could push the ‘rediscover’ essence that we had established into a video. I came up with the idea of sand blowing away to reveal the ‘new’ rebranded bottle,d which would take a lot of inspiration from old sailors bottles. I also liked the sand because of its connotations with time e.g. an hour glass and so on. I wanted to showcase some new skills I have been learning with the particle system in blender.

Car In Forest

I have never animated in 3d until this point but I wanted to explore different things with blender, such as volumetric clouds, emissions and geometry nodes. I had a lot of fun with this and decided to implement a bit of a story into the animation but keep it as a loop. This was because I wanted to be able to upload this to different social media.
